Background

Syndicate Theory is a web development company specializing in complex web applications and high traffic online communities. We build and market our own series of products, as well as service a wide range of clientele, ranging from high-profile mainstream brands, to thriving communities.

The Position

We are looking to add a new member to our team who can help out with various PHP-powered projects. Ideally, we can help groom the chosen candidate to eventually be a permanent team member.

Technical Qualifications

You will:
  • have 3+ years experience working with PHP
  • be fluent in PHP 5, HTML and JS
  • understand OOP and how it applies to PHP (namely PHP 5.3)
  • be comfortable working with SVN and Git
  • have confidence in your ability to make design decisions
  • have experience working with cPanel & Linux servers
  • be comfortable performing basic command line tasks
  • be comfortable working with a variety of web application platforms and frameworks

Nontechnical Qualifications

Highly Favored Abilities

A rock-star candidate would:
  • be able to meet tight deadlines when required
  • have experience with formal development processes (unit testing, continuous integration, TDD, etc.)
  • have 5+ years experience working with PHP
  • have experience administering Unix servers, and working with the command line
  • have experience working with high-traffic websites
  • have experience building Facebook applications
  • have experience with Zend Framework or Symfony2
  • have experience working with Git & GitHub in a distributed workflow
