QA Engineer

Vineyard Networks is looking for a highly motivated, energetic QA Engineer to join a rapidly growing team of enthusiastic professionals. Vineyard has a flat hierarchical management structure and truly believes that each and every person on the team plays a vital role to the success of the organization as a whole. You will be joining a team of 5 QA engineers, in an Engineering department of 15.

Some experience in the field is desirable, but if you are a quick learner and are able to show us your creativity, intelligence and desire to take on challenging tasks and continually achieve excellence, then we will provide the support you need to succeed in this role.

Role:

• Investigate a wide variety of applications and how they communicate on the network
• Set-up and use a wide variety of network applications, gathering and analyzing traces of their network traffic
• Produce automated tools capable of generating simulated network application traffic
• Analyze and modify network traces to simulate various real network traffic scenarios
• Execute competitive analysis tests, and report on our comparative strengths and weaknesses
• Assist in the set up and maintenance of lab equipment
• Develop and execute test plans; analyze and report on test results
• Identify and communicate product risk areas

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Math
• 1-3 years experience in a QA role is desirable, but bright recent graduates or candidates with experience in other technical fields will be considered
• Strong familiarity with Linux/UNIX-based systems is a must
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking is a must
• Familiarity with Wireshark is highly desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to tackle complex problem-solving tasks creatively
